O my soul! Know that yesterday has left you, and as for tomorrow, you have nothing to prove that it will be yours. In which case, know that your true life is the present day. (The Words)
Belief necessitates oneness; oneness necessitates submission; submission necessitates reliance, and reliance necessitates happiness in this world and the hereafter. (23rd Word)
What make us remain in the middle ages materially are six illnesses. They are as follows:
First: Despair became widespread among us.
Second: Honesty disappeared in the political life.
Third: Love of enmity.
Fourth: Being ignorant of the luminous ties that connect people of belief to
one another.
Fifth: Despotism that becomes widespread like infectious diseases.
Sixth: Working for one's own interest only.”
Damascus Sermon | 27
No seditious person will say I am seditious. They will always seem to be supporting the truth. Or, they will see the falsehood as the truth. No man cries stinking fish. However, never accept anything without checking.
{Reasonings - Badiuzzaman Said Nursi}
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The most virtuous and valuable sentence of me and the prophets before me is La Ilaha Illallah (There is no god but Allah).”
Particulary the nourishing of the young ones in the finest way with their wishes and desires being satisfied points out infinitely to the sweet beauty of Your grace. (The Rays)
There is a beautiful aspect and an indication of mercy in everything.
The universe is a tree. Elements are its branches. Plants are its leaves. Animals are its flowers. Human beings are its fruits. The most enlightening, luminous, the best, the most generous, honorable and pleasant fruit of the universe is Hazrat Muhammad, the Master of the Prophets and Apostles, the Imam of Muttaqis and the beloved of the Lord of the Realms.
It is impossible for this beautiful world not have an owner; similarly, it is impossible for its owner not to inform people about Himself and not to describe Himself. (Mesnevi-i Nuriye)
Yes, the highest truth in this world is the compassion of parents towards their children, and the most elevated rights, their rights of respect in return for their compassion. For they sacrifice their lives with great pleasure, spending them for the sake of their children’s lives. (The Letters)
Verily, when He intends a thing, His command is "Be" and it is! So glory to Him in Whose hands is the dominion of all things; and to Him will ye be all brought back. (Surah Ya Seen Verses 82-83)
Thus, Paradise is a flower. The company of houris is also a flower. The face of the earth is a flower. The spring is a flower. The heavens are a flower, while the stars are their gilded embroideries. And the sun is a flower, while the seven colours in its light are the flower’s embroidered colours. The universe is a beautiful and huge human being, in the same way that each human being is a miniature universe.
Then contemplate (O man!) the tokens of Allah's Mercy! how He gives life to the earth after its death: verily the Same will give life to the men who are dead: for He has power over all things. (Surah Ar-Room: 50)
The roots and rootlets, soft as silk, of plants, trees, and grasses say: “In the Name of Allah,” and pierce and pass through hard rock and earth. Mentioning the name of Allah, the name of the Most Merciful, everything becomes subjected to them. (The Words)
The bee is, with respect to its disposition and function, such a miracle of Allah’s power that a whole sura, Sura al-Nahl, has been named after it. For to inscribe in the minute head of that little honey-machine a complete programme for the fulfilment of its important task; to place in its diminutive stomach the most delicious of foods and to ripen it there; to place in its sting poison capable of destroying and killing animate beings, without causing any harm to its own body or the member in question — to do all this without the utmost care and knowledge, with exceeding wisdom and purposiveness, partakes of a perfect orderliness and equilibriium, and hence unconscious, disorderly, disequilibriated nature and accident could never interfere or participate in any of this. (The Rays)
Since the universe exists and cannot be denied, observable truths like wisdom, grace, mercy, beauty, order, balance, and adornment, which are like the colours, embellishments, lights, rays, arts, lives, and bonds of the universe, can in no w ay be denied. (The Flashes)
Indeed, it is as if the world of Islam becomes a mosque during the month of Ramadan. In every corner of that mighty mosque millions of those who know the whole Qur’an by heart cause the dwellers on the earth to hear the heavenly address. (The Letters)
Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment. (Surah Al-Maeda, 2)
Fasting in Ramadan, then, is the key to a true, sincere, extensive, and universal thankfulness. (The Letters)
Everyone’s home is a small world for him, and even a small Paradise. If belief in the hereafter is not at the basis of the happiness of that home, the members of the family will suffer anguish and anxiety to the extent of their compassion, love, and attachment. Their paradise will turn into Hell. (The Rays)
